22 schools, representing undergraduate and graduate students from universities and community colleges, will start competing January 10th in the 6th Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (CCDC) Virtual Qualifying Round:
- Each school will have 3 hours on their scheduled day to secure and protect their systems
- There will be seven rounds of three teams each and one round of two teams
- The winner from each round will be invited back for the Regional competition March 10-12, 2011
The competition schedule is as follows:
- Jan. 11: Community College of Baltimore County, Craven Community College
- Jan. 12: George Washington University, Howard Community College
- Jan. 13: James Madison University, Liberty University, Millersville University
- Jan. 14: Hagerstown Community College, Montgomery College, Northern Virginia Community College
- Jan. 17: Towson University, University of Maryland Baltimore County, University of Maryland College Park
- Jan. 21: University of Pittsburgh, Wilmington University, Virginia Tech University
- Jan. 24: Anne Arundel Community College, Forsyth Technical Community College, George Mason University
- Jan. 25: Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College, Capitol College, Catawba Valley Community College
